Attendees will learn how to practice the good, spot the bad and avoid the ugly.


Deborah Hyde: Mid-Year Compliance Updates for Group Health Plans

Attendees will review timely and significant compliance developments, including the various transparency-related disclosures and reports, the lasting effects of the COVID-19 public health emergency, and ongoing litigation surrounding coverage for preventive care and reproductive health. We’ll also provide an overview of recurring compliance requirements yet to come in the second half of the year.

D’Antae Gooden is an Associate Attorney in the Labor and Employment Department at Honigman LLP. He focuses his practice on employment counseling, litigation, and strategic workforce planning.


D'Antae has experience in:

  • Aiding in the preparation of responsive pleadings, drafting and responding to written discovery, and drafting dispositive motions. 
  • Assisting in litigating employment discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower protection cases. 
  • Drafting and reviewing employment agreements and related contracts, including separation agreements



Deborah Hyde HeadshotDeborah Hyde, Deputy General Counsel and Director of Benefits Consulting at Acrisure


Deborah Hyde, J.D., joined Acrisure in 2013 working for our Agency Partner Filice Insurance based in San Jose, California. In her role as ERISA Counsel with Filice, Deborah advised employer-clients of all sizes on matters of health and welfare plan compliance, including the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRC Sections 125 and 105(h),

and wellness programs. Prior to her time at Filice, Deborah served as Associate General Counsel at a leading ESOP institutional trustee where she managed investigations conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor and lent internal support on federal and state compliance regulations, fiduciary duties, and risk management.

Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English

from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Juris

Doctorate from the University of Kansas.

As Deputy General Counsel and Director of Benefits Consulting at

Acrisure, Deborah focuses on assisting employer-clients in navigating

the increasingly complex environment of employee benefits compliance

with an eye towards creativity and efficiency. She also works with Agency

Partners to offer compliance training and sales support.
