Attendees will learn about what mental health is and how it impacts individuals. JoAnne and Bob aim to raise awareness about mental health and remove the stigma around it.
Joel Schudiske: Behavioral Health in America: 2022 – The New (ab)Normal
Attendees will learn about how mental health impacts employers such as absenteeism and productivity.
Mary Feuerbach: Benefits Packages and Mental Health
Attendees will learn about health insurance benefits related to mental health and what employers need to include in their benefit plans.
About the Speakers:
Joanne Garrow, LMSW, CAADC: Owner of Caught Dreamin' Therapy
JoAnne is the owner of Caught Dreamin’ Therapy, PLLC, and a licensed therapist with direct experience working in the mental health and substance abuse fields. JoAnne attributes much of her success in the development of her therapeutic relationships to her years of parenting four kids, and working in outside sales. JoAnne served on the Board of Directors to the Women’s Center for domestic and sexual violence. JoAnne also served as the first in-school mental health therapist placed in Marquette Area Public Schools that was grant-funded through the state of Michigan. Her placement was dedicated to providing mental health care to the general education population within the Marquette School system.
JoAnne offers a unique combination of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, helping her clients to face their struggles and meet their goals. JoAnne is a lover of the outdoors and believes that movement and nature are powerful when it comes to finding balance and healing ourselves.
Robert A. Mellin: Chief Clinical Officer at Great Lakes Recovery Centers
As Chief Clinical Officer, Robert (Bob) oversees the direction and practice of clinical services at Great Lakes Recovery Centers. Bob received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Toledo. He also is a licensed Master’s Social Worker (MI), licensed Professional Counselor (MI), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (MCBAP), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (MCBAP).
Bob and his wife moved to Marquette in 1997 as part of a “great adventure”. He enjoys cycling, paddling sports, computer gaming, and spending time with his family.
Joel Schudiske, CLCS
Joel Schudiske has been a Business Development Executive for Ulliance for the past 3 years. Joel has been working with HR departments for over 15 years but joined Ulliance because of his passion for improving mental health and reducing the stigma. He has personally worked to improve the mental health of over 200 companies, organizations, and municipalities. For nearly 30 years, Michigan-based Ulliance has been helping companies create a culture of total well-being through comprehensive programs that improve business by enhancing people’s lives.
Mary Feuerbach: Managing Partner at Michigan Planners
Mary is an experienced Benefits Administrator with a demonstrated history of working in the hospitality industry. Skilled in Talent Management, Deferred Compensation, Employee Benefits Design, Personnel Management, and Employee Engagement. Strong human resources professional with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) focused in Human Resources Management.
